Sachar has written many books, but the book that inspired me to read is Holes. This book was kind of confusing at first, because it takes place in three different places. The main character Stanley Yelnats IV is sent to Camp Green Lake, his great-great grandfather in the 1800s and Kate Barlow a robber in the past. Sachar wrote many good books, enough that he has won many awards for his many books from the 1970s all the way to 2007. The book Holes was so good that a movie was made of the award winning book. He wrote books for young adults to children’s books. His writing career started with the series of books called Sideways Stories from Wayside School he wrote a total of thirty stories. The series of books were focused on young adults, he wrote the books from his experiences and that way he would relate to the readers. Sachar used names from his class when he was a teacher’s aide, and he would never use himself in the stories.
